Implementation of Climate Strategy
GIZEH Verpackungen GmbH & Co. KG has been using EnEffCo® at five locations since 2022. The corporate carbon footprint (CCF) was determined for nine business units in Germany, Poland, France, and Canada. In addition, product carbon footprints (PCFs) were calculated for four products and reporting in accordance with CSRD was introduced.
The challenge
GIZEH Verpackungen GmbH & Co. KG is an internationally active specialist in food packaging. The company has set itself the goal of recording and communicating the emissions of all business activities along the entire value chain and integrating climate protection into its corporate strategy.
ÖKOTEC supports the implementation of this strategy with the provision of the EnEffCo® software, the creation of corporate and product carbon footprints (CCF, PCF) and the introduction of reporting in accordance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

Solution and Implementation CCF & PCFs
- Preparation of a CCF balance sheet (Scope 1-3) for a total of 9 business units and verification of conformity in accordance with ESRS E1 (CSRD)
- Development of PCFs for four products with different characteristics and creation of a reporting system for future validation
Solution and Implementation CSRD
- Analysis of existing information, data and processes (fit-gap analysis) and derivation of recommendations for action
- Support project management and team in the course of the sustainability reporting obligation (including knowledge transfer and empowerment, ad-hoc issues, internal communication)
