Dr.-Ing. Kirsten Kubin
Dr. Kirsten Kubin leads the Energy Efficiency team at ÖKOTEC and has more than 20 years of professional experience. The engineer with a doctorate in Process Engineering is an expert in energy efficiency and climate protection topics and a listed “Energy Consultant for Non-Residential Buildings (EBN)” and energy auditor for EDL-G. She is co-author of the “Methodology for establishing energy performance indicators to increase energy efficiency in companies”, gives lectures and leads projects on behalf of ministries, including the pilot program “Einsparzähler”. As moderator of the energy efficiency and climate protection network for the STADE industrial park, she coordinates, among other things, the professional exchange within the network.

About Dr. Kirsten Kubin
Which project was special?
The “STEP up!” funding competition was special for me. It started in 2015 as a new funding program for companies. As project manager, I worked closely with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the Federal Agency for Export Control and the project execution agency VDI/VDE-IT and supervised a large team internally. On the one hand, the project was very challenging, as it was the first project of this kind in the company’s history and there was a lot to develop. On the other hand, it was a lot of fun for me and the team, because of the large degree of creative freedom.
What client feedback motivated you the most?
That it is fun and productive to work collaboratively with me and exchange ideas.
What are the biggest challenges our customers face in meeting climate protection targets and how can ÖKOTEC help solve this?
The often scarce resources in terms of personnel, time and budget and the uncertainty of what requirements will soon be imposed on the companies is very challenging. Our services can help to reduce internal bottlenecks. Regarding budgetary issues, we can support clients with our expertise in public subsidies.
