Checklist – Optimizing Process Heating Systems

Process heat is one of the most cost-intensive forms of energy in industrial applications. Despite its operational importance, its creation is associated with significant losses. This inefficiency often goes undetected for a long time in many companies.

Economically and technically optimized operation of process heat systems begins with the consistent reduction of energy losses. One of the most effective levers for improvement is reducing exhaust gas losses and adjusting the steam pressure, as excessively high evaporation pressure unnecessarily raises exhaust gas temperatures.

To make process heat more efficient at the site, our expert Mandy Preuß has compiled a concise overview with tips for efficiency measures in one of the checklists.

This clear checklist helps energy managers take a structured approach and identify potential opportunities in the areas of energy consumption, creation, and distribution of energy sources, including:

• Heat transfer medium: Heating water
• Heat transfer medium: Steam
• Firing: Flue gases and radiant heat
